Speaking out for the very first time about the HEATED audio recordings between himself and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva that leaked onto the Internet last summer, Oscar winner Mel Gibson has finally broken his silence to Deadline:
"I've never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality -- period. I don't blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited. You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship. It's one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn't represent what I truly believe or how I've treated people my entire life."
I can understand that. We've all said HORRIBLE things in the midst of a heated argument! BUT, Mel Gibson has to understand that many people will NEVER understand or accept his apology. In fact, lots of people have written him off for it.
Asked if he ever thought the hate-filled conversations would end up on the Internet, Gibson sighed and shook his head, saying, "Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that? Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?"
"I was allowed to end the case and still maintain my innocence. It's called a West plea and it's not something that prosecutors normally allow. But in my case, the prosecutors and the judge agreed that it was the right thing to do," the actor said. "I could have continued to fight this for years and it probably would have come out fine. But I ended it for my children and my family. This was going to be such a circus. You don't drag other people in your life through this sewer needlessly, so I'll take the hit and move on."
He also goes on to praise Whoopi Goldberg for being a loyal friend to him in the midst of the controversy:
"I knew Whoopi before she was Whoopi. And, as she's great and I always liked her and loved her," he said. "I like her even more now because she got it."
Lastly, he opened up about other people not coming to his defense:
"That doesn't bother me. Why would anyone want to speak publicly and drag themselves through this crap? It seems to add fuel to the fire. Very many people are supportive, of course, but you find out who your friends are. I have many friends and they've been great."
It's gonna take A LOT of time, Mr. Gibson. Ask Chris Brown.....
After being caught on camera mouthing a gay slur at a referee after what he perceived as a bad call, Kobe Bryant and his fellow Laker teammates are speaking out in a new anti-gay/bullying PSA to warn fans about the negative effects of ostracizing someone simply because they're different.
"Kobe Bryant's comment during last night's game was offensive and inexcusable. While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated. Accordingly, I have fined Kobe $100,000. Kobe and everyone associated with the NBA know that insensitive or derogatory comments are not acceptable and have no place in our game or society."
Let's be honest, $100K is a drop in the bucket for Kobe. But it's good to know that the NBA is against this sort for behavior.
“What I said last night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.”
I've made this comment before, but it seems as if I will have to repeat myself......Black people DO NOT like to be referred to as the N-word, and Gays DO NOT like to be referred to as the F-word. POINT.BLANK.PERIOD.!!!
When people start to realize this, we will inch a little closer to world peace....YES!
Both terms represent a negative and vile description of both groups, so using the word in ANY context will bring about an uproar.
Kobe, YOU, being a role model, should know and do better!!!
PS - And Kobe...another thing. That was a half azz apology...
“Hi this is Brook-Lynne Pink Lady. I’m sure by now everybody’s heard of me and what supposedly happened. I kind of wanted to set the record straight and let everybody know that nothing happened in that car.
LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty much I feel like it’s like a {…] blog that got totally out of hand, and a lot of things I read are just totally not true about me and my character. I can’t speak on his behalf. Basically, I’m not a transexual, I’m a drag queen. I don’t do this all the time, I don’t dress like this all the time. I think the media as a whole has made me out to be this person just to get a story, and it’s definitely not true. I’m definitely not a prostitute. I’m not in any way, shape, or form, easy; I don’t do stuff like that. I don’t have sex for money, I don’t need to have sex for money. Pretty much with the situation thats happening now, I’m kinda just trying to rebuild my life. People exaggerate to get better stories, at the end of the day if that’s what you think is gonna make your pockets fatter, do you. Just know when you do things like that and write sh** about people that’s not true, it kinda shows what kind of person you are.”
First and foremost, your name is "Brook-Lynne Pink Lady"??? *collapses*
Secondly, According to the police report (which is public information BTW), police caught Mister Cee with his pants down and YOU service his "little man" in the car. Care to explain that?
Lookahere, Mr./Ms. Pink Lady....in the eloquent words of Jay-Z, "we don't believe you, you need more people".
Uh Ohhhhhhhh! According to this video, it seems as if!
Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers played a game against the San Antonio Spurs at the Staples Center when NBA superstar Kobe Bryant received a technical foul from NBA referee Bennie Adams and appears to mouth the words, "F**king f**got."
WHOA! No Bueno....ESPECIALLY when the cameras are following your every move!
You can even hear one of the commentators saying, "You might wanna take the cameras off of him right now, for the children watching." Uh, ya think?
A rep for the team says, "The Lakers can not confirm that is what Kobe said or not."
Yea, ok! That's EXACTLY what he said....PUUUULEASE!
NEVER one to hold her tongue, Rosie O'Donnell appears to be coming to the defense of Chris Brown and his less than stellar media popularity as of late!
While on her Sirius XM show 'Rosie Radio', she explained:
"I just don't know why this kid seems to be held to a different standard than anyone else." When Rosie's executive producer implied there is a racial aspect at play, Rosie replied: "I totally think there is, and I also think it's why he felt he was safer with Robin Roberts [who is also African-American]." Rosie added that she felt "mildly angry" at Robin while watching her interview Chris.
In terms of the racial aspect with how the media is treating Chris Brown, I COMPLETELY agree with Rosie! Unless you are a black person living in this country, many will NEVER understand what it feels like to "live and be black". Let's face it, the playing field is NOT even. It's something that we are told from the beginning that we just have to "deal" with. It's pretty obvious and apparent that Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen are treated differently in the media. Chris has been called a "thug", etc. while Charlie sells out "comedy shows" in minutes. Am I LYING? Oh, okay....you do the math.
Now, as for Rosie being "mildly angry" at GMA's Robin Roberts...WHY???? What did she do exactly? She is a journalist, first and foremost. Her job is to ask pertinent questions that her audience is looking for. As for Breezy losing his cool and throwing a chair through a window, well...THAT'S.HIS.DUMB.AZZ.
Reports have surfaced that Mister Cee, a well known deejay and producer, was allegedly arrested and charged with lewd conduct last week. Cee, whose real name is Calvin Lebrun, was reportedly engaged in a sexual act with a man in a parked car in New York at the time of his arrest, according to Diary of a Hollywood Street King, the site that originally broke the story.
Another site, Animal, confirmed that a Calvin Lebrun was arrested last week with the same charge, public lewdness, along with another charge, exposure of a person. Animal confirmed this using the New York State Unifying Court System website, which has this information as public record.
Mister Cee's colleague at Hot97, Funkmaster Flex, recently disputed the allegations saying that the story is only a rumor.
"Earlier this evening, a rumor went viral through multiple social media platforms stating that Mr. Cee was arrested for committing a lewd act. Please be advised this rumor is not true," Flex wrote on his site. "Stating false allegations about somebody and presenting it as valid information is unethical."
Along with being a deejay on Hot97, Mister Cee has had a storied journey within Hip Hop. He was originally a deejay for Big Daddy Kane and later was an associate executive producer on Notorious B.I.G.'s Bad Boy debut, Ready to Die. As noted, he currently works as a deejay for New York's Hot97.
Somebody get Bishop Eddie Long on the line and patch him through to Mister Cee. Somebody got some explaining to do.....
Sidebar - the male prostitute is serving FACE, dahhhhling!!! Yall know I LIVE for a JUICY SCANDAL!
"You can never please people. That's my decision...it doesn't mean we're getting married tomorrow. It doesn't mean we're gonna be in a relationship, or make up, or even talk ever again. It just means I didn't want to object to the judge. What he did to me was a personal thing. It had nothing to do with his career. Saying [he can't perform at awards show] definitely made it difficult for him. We don't have to talk again ever in my life. I just didn't want to make it more difficult for him professionally."
It takes a stand up girl to not want to affect him professionally! Does she still care about him? Hmmmmmmmm.
Chris Brown is set to perform on "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday night, but he may not get a very warm welcome.
"DWTS" host Tom Bergeron sat down for an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Monday and told his fellow reality talent competition host that there might be trouble if he gets an opportunity to interview Brown on the air.
“I did say to the producers that it might be to their advantage to not have me interview him, because my natural tendency would be to say something," Bergeron revealed (via Entertainment Weekly). "So don’t put me in a position where you’re asking me not to say something, because I won’t really do that."
The something he's referring to is actually two-fold, though connected: first, the controversy that Brown caused with his backstage freakout at "Good Morning America" last week; and second, the reason he freaked out: being asked questions by Robin Roberts about his bloody 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown has since apologized for the backstage incident, and ABC has said that there is no bad blood.
Still, despite Bergeron's warning, "DWTS" did promote Brown's appearance on Monday night's show. Reality TV may just get very, very real.
This is getting out of hand now! I have to admit, I agree with Chris Brown....would they be sending these sorts of messages through the media if Charlie Sheen was the subject? Not likely....
Awwwww! She's putting a big smile on his face....gotta love that!
Chris Brown and girlfriend Karrueche Tran were spotted catching a flight at Richmond International Airport in Richmond, Virginia earlier today as they strolled through the terminal, laughing at a joke along the way.
Cute!
Just like everyone has an opinion on the Chris Brown/GMA debacle earlier this week, so does Wendy Williams aka Mizz "Imma Speak My Mind, And I Don't Give A Damn What Yall Say About It"
View it under the break....
"I am so disgusted with this little boy" - Wendy Williams
“Listen I don’t think Robin was wrong for asking [about Rihanna]… Interviewers have every right to ask about it… Your rage was uncalled for. Robin was right to ask you about Rihanna. You will get asked that question from now until the end of time… and you’d better figure out a politically and mature way of answering it! And P.S., why are your arms girly but everything else is manly?”
I have to admit...I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WENDY SAID ABOUT CHRIS! And this is coming from somebody that wants him to win, but son-son...control yourself next time!
"On Tuesday night, I sat with Chris Brown, one of the greatest performing artists of his time, during his celebration dinner for the release of his new album, 'F.A.M.E.' I know that this young man's dancing, singing and art are his prayers. Without them, he's left to deal with a cluttered world in a way that is far too complicated than he imagined when he was a 13-year-old kid with a dream of being famous. I am troubled by the people, critics and members of the media who drag Chris away from his art. His freedom is deeply rooted in his artistic expression. It is during those seconds of stillness when you're dancing that the Christ/Buddha/Allah/Moses inside of you is awakened and comes to power. This is the freedom Chris knew as a child, but as he rose to fame, finding freedom became a lot more complicated. Coming back home is a very difficult thing. Coming back to being normal, coming back to that pure place of artistry. But, when fame snatches your freedom, the ability to control your own life becomes much more difficult."
As she should be! Lemme tell ya, for the most part, mommas always know best!
It's being reported that Chris Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, was “very disturbed and upset” about what happened after her son's Good Morning America interview with Robin Roberts.
"Joyce spoke with Chris immediately after he left the studio in midtown. She was very, very upset with him. Joyce isn't only his mother, but his manager as well. She reminded Chris about how hard he had worked on the album, and Joyce didn't seem distressed about the line of questioning that Robyn Roberts gave him regarding Rihanna. Joyce told Chris not to lose his cool again, that is what people expect him to do. Chris listened to his mom, and seemed to take what she said to heart. Chris doesn't want to disappoint Joyce at all, and he could hear it in her voice."
Completely agree with Momma Joyce! After coming so far, why would you give people a reason to ridicule and talk smack about you AGAIN! I REPEAT: with age come maturity.....
Well her words must've hit a nerve with young Chris because he issued an apology yesterday during an appearance on BET's 106&Park! View the video under the break... *apology starts at the 4:13 mark*
"First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed at my actions, because I'm disappointed in the way I acted."
"I had to release the anger that I had inside of me. Yes, I got very emotional and I apologize for acting like that.”
In related news, I'm hearing that Chris is on track to sell between 250-275k units. IMPRESSIVE! It would be the 2nd highest selling album of the year, behind Adele.
After having an alleged "HUGE MELTDOWN" (their words..not mine) at the GMA studios when Robin Roberts questioned him about the big Rihanna scandal 2 years ago, Chris Brown was spotted with his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, checking out some art at the Opera Gallery in Soho with some friends.
Breezy has mastered the art of "Never Let Them See You Sweat".....or has he???
More flix under the break.....
Cute girl!
At the end of the day, he is a young boy that is growing up in front of our eyes. I'm just gonna pray for the kid...
LA Weekly is revealing that in author Neil Strauss' new book entitled: Everyone Loves You When You’re Dead, an 18-year old Paris Hilton is quoted as saying "I Can’t Stand Black Guys".
*SHOTS FIRED*
And to make matters worse, she recounts a time when she was making out with actor Vin Diesel:
HILTON: I went out with that guy last night. Which guy? HILTON (points to an actor in Saving Private Ryan): We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw that he was black and made an excuse and left. I can’t stand black guys. I would never touch one. It’s gross. (pauses). Does that guy look black to you? How black does a guy have to be? HILTON: One percent is enough for me.
I'm not gonna jump to conclusions about this statement, because Lawwwwwwwd knows I tend to do that! But, somebody has some explaining to do....'sho do!
Chris Brown exploded in rage behind the scenes at "Good Morning America" this morning ... smashing a window and storming out without a shirt ... sources tell TMZ ... and it was triggered by on-air questions about the Rihanna incident. ABC sources tell TMZ ... Brown performed and was interviewed by Robin Roberts live from the Times Square studio when she began asking about the infamous incident. Brown tried to redirect the questions to focus on his album -- but Roberts continued to ask about Brown's legal issues stemming from the Rihanna incident. We're told after the interview, Brown freaked out, storming into his dressing room and screaming so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security. We're told Brown was out of control, and one source present tells us he smashed a window in his dressing room, and the glass shattered and some shards fell onto 43rd and Broadway. ABC security tells TMZ ... the window was shattered with a chair. We're told by the time security rushed the area, Brown had ripped off his shirt and left the building, blowing off another performance he was supposed to do for the ABC website. And sources say ... on his way out of the building, Brown confronted a segment producer, got in his face and stared him down. People from the show got in between Chris and the producer to diffuse the situation. Remember -- Brown is on probation for the felony beating and he's required to obey all laws.
UPDATE 6:49 AM: Brown just tweeted, "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bulls**t."
UPDATE 6:59 AM: Brown has already deleted the previous tweet ... and added a new one that reads, "All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!"
Although I can COMPLETELY understand Chris's frustrations, YOU MUST control yourself! Especially on YOUR day when the world is watching and you have so much to be thankful for! Dah well! With age comes maturity....
We'll be hearing LOTS about this story throughout the day...TRUST!
Former Danity Kane member and reality star Aubrey O'Day showed her azz (NOT literally) in front of the paparazzi and EVERYBODY while dining at Hollywood hotspot Katsuya a few days ago.
If you watch her new reality show on Oxygen, All About Aubrey, then you would know that Aubrey has a couple of girlfriends on the show with her that don't get along, all stemming from one of their boyfriend's named Sean who apparently slept with the other girl. Talk about TENSION!
Well, it all exploded on the streets of Hollywood with Aubrey pushing the guy.
Check out the video above to get all of the juiciness! Let's just say that Aubrey is not one to mess around with....
Professional golfer Tiger Woods was the butt of MANY jokes last year when he went through a VERY PUBLIC divorce from his ex-wife for having multiple affairs!
Now, the golf-pro is easing back into the spotlight and proved he was a good sport by coming on the Jimmy Fallon late night talk show to be the butt of MORE jokes!
Jimmy says:
“Thank you for having the courage to come on a late-night comedy program, because it must have been a painful and awful situation, the whole thing you went through,” Fallon said. “But from a comedian’s standpoint and my monologue writers, thank you! So much! It kind of wrote itself. I mean, balls, shafts, holes, foursomes. It really writes itself. Thank you! Thank you!”
Way to get back out there Tiger! You are better than me...
